Every pillar now features a deduplicated Top 10 so a venue only appears where it performs best. Re-run the scraper anytime the island’s food landscape shifts— the instructions below outline the refresh cycle.

Scoring methodology primer
Phuket uses the same scoring DNA as the rest of the Thai Bella Food Compass series:
- Reviewer balance: Reviews from users with fewer than 10 or more than 500 lifetime posts get half weight.
- Recency decay: A power-law curve (exponent 1.2) keeps recent feedback front-and-center.
- Text richness: Longer, descriptive reviews outrank one-liners; meaningful mentions of dishes or experiences win more weight.
- Composite score: Rating (50%) + review depth (20%) + recent voices (15%) + detailed feedback (15%).
- Category uniqueness: Each venue will only appear in one Top 10 once the ranking script runs.
